Aperitif that reveals the most genuine Ladin identity
Welcome to the Wine Bar Ursus Ladinicus, one of the highest in Europe. Set in a mountain hut that in the past used to be a hay storage, the Wine Bar perfectly preserves the rustic old-time atmosphere. But without Willy it would have been just one of numerous wine cellars scattered among the Dolomites. It’s he, the founder and the soul of the Wine Bar Ursus Ladinicus, who makes it unique. The extreme mountain climber, skier, Alpine guide, one of the pioneers of hang gliding in Italy and the famous palaeontologist from Corvara who discovered in 1987 the Conturines Cave with the bones of prehistoric bears Ursus Ladinicus inside. He’s one of those genuine characters who convey the true spirit of Alta Badia. Try it out yourself… Open during the whole winter season under the skilled management of Luca Costamoling (Willy’s son) and located on one of the Sellaronda variants, the Wine Bar is a must during your ski holiday in the Dolomites. And if you are lucky enough to meet Willy, you won’t certainly leave early…
A journey into the world of flavours and aromas
Clear-cut bouquets and subtle notes, elegant, well-balanced and daring wines, eager to conquer whoever is able to appreciate the slightest undertones… There are more than 300 labels available at the Wine Bar Ursus Ladinicus in Alta Badia. They come from all over the world and from all regions of Italy but a particular role is deservedly given to South Tyrolean brands. Every wine tasting is a sensory experience, enhanced by the charm of the Dolomites and by the precious advice of Willy who will be glad to guide you through this world of flavours and aromas. The rich wine list is accompanied by a menu of appetizers, including local cold cuts and cheeses, and by a daily offer of hot homemade dishes.
Wine prepares the hearts and makes them ready for passion. (Ovid)
